Gamification, the popular concept of using game mechanisms in any field!

The concept?

What if everything we did could be done in the form of a game to make everyday life more entertaining? No ? You don’t believe it?

Well, gamification makes it possible! The concept consists of transforming actions that are often boring or restrictive into fun by using the mechanisms used in video games: setting up quests, collecting experience points or simply challenging friends.

The main aim is to increase the commitment of the people involved and influence their behaviour.
All areas are concerned: training, employee commitment, marketing… There are many ideas, and little by little, games are invading our daily lives.

According to a study by the AFJV (French Video Games Agency), « The gamification market is currently booming and is estimated to be worth 6.8 billion dollars in 2018. Experts are predicting growth of 32%, for an estimated global turnover of 40 billion dollars in 2024 », so it’s safe to say that this concept has a bright future ahead of it, and so much the better!

Beyond the professional world, gamification can be applied to many other areas: Shopping platforms and their loyalty programmes, which set up tiered reward systems as soon as a purchase or several purchases are made; The world of education and training, which uses this system to help their students progress while providing them with knowledge in an entertaining way; The world of health and well-being, which uses gamification to encourage people to take care of their bodies; But also and increasingly Community Management, to engage and retain their community over the long term…
